Book Review written by Kristi Hallman, LCSW-C

The Survival Guide for Kids with ADD or ADHD by John F. Taylor, PhD

The start of a new school year is filled with new adventures and challenges.  For children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the challenges can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. The Survival Guide for Kids with ADD or ADHD is a great book for elementary and middle school students who may sometimes struggle with the symptoms of ADHD. With clear and simple explanations, this book helps students understand a diagnosis of ADHD. The book is filled with helpful strategies related to succeeding at home and school, developing and maintaining friendships, and dealing with emotions and self-control. Best of all, this book is written for kids, empowering them to be proactive and independent learners.
